The studio is currently working on the interior design and, in collaboration with naval architects Judel/Vrolijk, the exterior styling for a new 175′ sloop currently in build at Baltic Yachts. Due for delivery in 2017, the new yacht is taking on all the timeless qualities and eclectic touches of the Pink Gin lifestyle that has been admired by so many.
When completed she will have an interior where texture and surface finishes will be of great relevance. Select materials are being employed to create a strikingly provocative feel with elegant cosy touches for the owner’s comfort during his worldwide cruising use.
Innovations include the installation of two hull doors, one amidships on the port side as a guest entrance and the second forward on the starboard side opening out from the owner’s cabin. It will be the first time that this combination has been used for a sailing yacht.
DU has also divided the extensive cockpit area into three zones; one has a dining and bar area directly connected to the galley, the second is for steering and navigation and the third, set aft, is for relaxation. More information will be made available as the project progresses.
