Lady A Refit

Lady A Refit

Design Unlimited are delighted to announce that they have completed the interior design for the refit of the 55m superyacht originally Southern Cross III, for a British Client. The yacht was originally built in 1986 by Sterling Yachts in Japan and was one of the original iconic yachts which marked the beginning of the superyacht era in the 1980’s.

The yacht has undergone a comprehensive interior refit and the Design Unlimited have redesigned the entire lower guest and owner’s accommodation. The owner’s suite in particular has been extensively modified and extended with one of the old guest cabins converted to provide the owner with an impressive study leading into the enlarged new owner’s stateroom. On the upper deck there is a new double cabin and en-suite bathroom. Both forward and aft saloons are also re-configured to accommodate the owners wish to create a less formal, calm, comfortable use of the space and the dining area has also undergone a complete refurbishment.

The refit also involves an extension to the aft end of the upper deck to increase the exterior seating and social spaces with a new impressive exterior dining area. The sundeck has also been greatly improved with a new external bar and comfortable large sunbathing area to make the most of the old helicopter landing facility and to enjoy the panoramic views from this impressive motor yacht. Large adaptable parasols have been fitted to this deck as well as a new bimini arrangement for the deck below.

The interior decoration has a sense of glamour and luxury with detailed, textured fabrics which create a calm and comfortable ambience. The colour palette is harmonious as the colour schemes for each area are unique and yet the scheme flows throughout the entire yacht. Fabrics are from Zimmer and Rohde, Lizzo and Jim Thompson and Sculptural Porta Romana lighting add to the glamorous look.
